He died March 7th and I really haven't had much of an inclination to post since then.
Anyways, heres a bit of a sketch-dump of bits and bats I've been doing this year. There are some larger versions of some pieces on my DeviantArt account.

This was far too "anime" in terms of style and design language, though it does reflect the base design concept I finally came up with (those files are also currently lost).

"...and then after the silence of winter and the fierce cold of the snow came the thaw. Fog banks twisted our vision and created menace at all angles. The river burst its banks and a rushing torrent smashed it's way through the streets piling rubble in new forms for us to navigate and unearthing hidden wonders we would otherwise have walked right over..."

This is an early envisionment of the Spec Ops team. Whilst some of the aesthetic values have remained, they look less like Nazi stormtroopers right now - far more streamlined and ninja-like than before.
Still, I figured I should upload it as it's a decent piece!

From the Norilsk Incident.
Armed with standard issue firearms, but equipped with customised and next gen aeronautic and cosmonaut suits, they primarily survive in Norilsk through their understanding of the physics at work in the environment and the high level protection their suits provide against the chemical, radioactive and anomalous hazards.

That project has since evolved, mutated and become something more.
The initial release is four intertwined novellas telling the story of four factions searching for answers amongst the abandoned city of Norilsk. The novellas are accompanied by a tabletop RPG that allows you to live the world and the lore for yourself.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3267180649714642570.post-86321952996065600322013-02-12T15:09:00.000+00:002013-02-21T19:02:27.258+00:00Snowy LandscapesYou would have thought with the snow the UK has seen over the last month I'd have had plenty chance to get some reference pictures / sketches done for a piece I'm producing for Our Fair City (http://ourfaircity.com/), sadly York hasnt seen much snow and the few days we did have with it I was stuck in with a bad back.
Anyway, I figured I should do some prep, and heres a couple of them.

25 minutes.
I made a custom 'pin' brush to do this, and now intend a much better version that I'll take longer on.

The cable sheared off the last one through general wear and tear - thankfully on the latest Bamboo pen they've managed to sort out tha design flaw with the use of s seperate USB cable. It also has a much larger active area - hence me having to get used to it.
